Are there people who don’t reblog this?
I can only assume that the ones who haven’t aren’t reading the right books.
I know it’s trendy to fight the system and cry that we are all becoming slaves of technology, but this attitude overlooks that computers and phones are tools for communicating. When someone thinks I’m an idiot smiling at a machine, I’m actually smiling at my girlfriend who is 10000 miles away and whom I would have never met if not for these newfangled electronics. As they say: when the wise man points to the moon, the fool looks at the finger.
This is a topic that I’ve been wanting to tackle for a while now; much credit to this excellent post for bringing it to the front of my brain.
My mom, best friend, and baby sister are in Georgia, and my middle sister is in New Jersey, and I’m in California. I’m sorry, did you want me to only communicate with them with weekly hand-written letters?
yooo everybody. my mom and i were goofing around and found this seriously FUCKED UP site. all your information, (phone number, nam, address even) is available for 2.99. like everything. please watch this video on how to remove it. (im not sure if it’s there for minors, but if you’ve ever owned/rented a house you’re definitely there. it’s worth checking it out to make sure.)
video on how to remove information. : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPFLagxnDsA
fucked up website: http://www.spokeo.com/
also, if you’ve lived in more than one place/state it has you multiple times, remove all of your profile things. (it had my mom 4 times, all over our state. even from when she lived in a house 9 years ago.)
SIGNAL BOOST THIS SHIT
YES THERE ARE MINORS ON HERE ALSO I JUST CHECKED ME AND IT HAS MY ~PERSONAL~ INFO ON THERE
This is very concerning. I just spent the last ten minutes removing my entire family (including my 14-year-old sister) from the site.
Cool Mom Tech has a guide on how to take your information off the site if for some reason you can’t watch the above video.
Just to inform everyone, it’s American only, but it’s real. I’ve found 3 of my friends already with this sight and the only reason I knew it was them was because I happen to have their address. PLEASE CONFIRM IF YOU ARE ON THIS SITE AND IF YOU ARE, REMOVE YOURSELF. NOW.
I’m screaming internally because I just searched up a handful of my friends who live in America.. and found every single one of them without fail. This is scary.
this is disgusting. I’m already paranoid enough about my safety from running an online business, and here’s a site with all my info plus a photo of my house. removing all my family…
Passing this around again in case anyone missed it the first time.
Yesterday was basically perfect. I got my iPad and it works FANTASTICALLY and I’m really happy about that. Also, when I went food shopping, I got some deli snacks to eat on one of the benches because I was starving and a lady left her papillion with me so she could do the exact same thing and the puppy’s name was Bitsy and it was cold so she hopped on my lap and curled up tight into a little ball and I died a little.
on coming out, like i don’t think cishet people get it? coming out is not a small thing that people disagree over. it’s not like disagreeing with your family on politics or whatever, it can be literally life changing.
in an ideal world, parents would love their children no matter what their sexuality and/or gender identity is, but in reality that’s so far from true in so many cases. telling my dad that i’m queer probably won’t result in him getting over his bigotry, it’ll only cause him to be more violent towards me. there will NEVER be a right time for me to tell because he will never accept it.
it’s easy for cishets to say things like “they’ll love you anyway, but if they don’t who cares!” when they don’t have to constantly worry about their family finding out and kicking them out/ sending them somewhere to “get the gay out”/ or worse.
basically i need cishets to stop acting like coming out is no big deal, or that they “understand” what we’re going through.
#additionally cishets need 2 stop with thinking that coming out is a one time thing??? #u gotta think abt coming out for EVERYONE YOU MEET basically #very rarely will that not be the case #new co-workers? new extended family? just plain new friends? #gotta come out to everyone #its a lifelong process not a one time thing.
